So.... If you have KIT downloaded, installed and ready to launch, then you are ready for the i-Series fun to begin. And...be sure to check out the "Unclassified" styles. The Korg I30 keyboard is a workstation used for audio recording and live performance. The I30 contains a variety of sound patches and patterns referred to as "styles." A user selects a style to control tempo, effects and rhythm arrangements, and workstation recording. During recording or playback, a style can be called in from memory by the user to add to an internal track within the I30. Korg also provides extra style packages that integrate into the I30 sound bank.

Korg I30 style sets consist of sample-based collections, on-board effects, a multi-track sequencer, drum kits and percussion patches that are available for recording, MIDI integration or live performance. This feature started with the Korg M1 and has expanded with later Korg models. The Korg is known as a polyphonic synthesizer, but through the styles menu, analogue synthesizer sound patches that emulate Moog, Prophet 5 , Arp 2600 and Odyssey synthesizer sounds can be accessed.
The Korg I30 contains a general MIDI sound set and can also externally use MIDI sound styles from other modules, such as another keyboard or computer. The MIDI sound set contains 192 and 128 RAM sound sets for a composer to choose from. The general MIDI sound set includes sound styles and patches from Korg legacy synthesizers, such as the Korg M1 and M20.
The arrangement style presets are separated into musical-style categories. These presets can be used to create a composition. The musical styles are dance, latin, country, jazz, funk, R&B, blues rock, world, 8 and 16 beat, and fusion. The arrangement styles allows the I30 keyboard to be split in half. While the arrangement style plays on one half of the keyboard, the top portion can be used for other style sounds and melodies.
The Korg I30 includes tempo styles ranging from 20 to 240 beats per minute (bpm). The tempo can be adjusted while playing an accompaniment, workstation recording or during a live performance. The basic time signatures that can be accessed through the style menu are 3/4, 4/4, 7/4, 6/8 and 12/8. Odd time signatures can be programmed through the style menu. Quantise features to give the music a human feel are located within the tempo styles grouping.
